KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued non-bailable w
arrants of arrest of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Sharjeel Memon in a Rs 5 billion corruption case.

inst Sharjeel Memon and others came up for h
earing before the SHC on Saturday. The court issued non-bailable arrest w
arrants for Sharjeel because he failed to appear before it.
The counsel for Sharjeel Memon told the court that his cli
ent was sick and hospitalized, and could not appear in court in person. The counsel for the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prayed that the PPP leader was not app
earing in court deliberately, therefore, his non-bailable arrest w
arrants be issued.
The counsel for Sharjeel further said that the Sindh High Court had not extend
ed the bail for his client. Earlier, the court had granted bail to him until December 26, 2016. The court adjourn
ed the h
earing of the case until January 14.
